Five weeks old already! Birdie’s Little Birdies are growing like weeds, and this might just be one of my favorite stages of raising Goldendoodle puppies.
Our sweet litter of ten—five boys and five girls—has officially reached the five-week milestone, and their little personalities are coming to life more and more every day!
Here at Rad Doods in Chugiak, Alaska, just outside Anchorage, our home is full of puppy snuggles, tiny barks, wagging tails, and plenty of entertainment. With five kids in the house, these puppies certainly aren’t lacking in love or attention!
It’s amazing how much changes in just five short weeks.
Not long ago, these puppies spent nearly all their time sleeping and nursing. Now they’re exploring their surroundings, wrestling with their siblings, playing with toys, and discovering their own little voices.
Their eyes and ears are fully open, their coordination is improving, and they’re becoming increasingly curious about the world around them.
One of my favorite parts of this stage is watching their personalities emerge. Some are a little more adventurous, some prefer to observe before joining the fun, and others are happiest curled up in someone’s lap.
It’s such a fun glimpse into the dogs they’re becoming!
At Rad Doods, we believe the first eight weeks of a puppy’s life are incredibly important.
Our Goldendoodle puppies are raised right inside our family home, where they’re exposed to the everyday sights, sounds, and activities of a busy household.
From the very beginning, we incorporate early neurological stimulation, gentle daily handling, and our ten-step puppy massage routine to help introduce our puppies to positive human interaction.
Now that they’re five weeks old, we’re continuing to build on those early experiences with:
Our goal is to give each puppy a wonderful foundation as they prepare to join their forever families.
Another big milestone is learning to eat!
We’ve started introducing supplemental goat’s milk and transitioning the puppies toward puppy mush as they begin the weaning process.
Watching ten little Goldendoodles figure out how to eat from a dish is equal parts adorable and messy!
Over the coming weeks, they’ll continue transitioning toward solid puppy food while still spending important time with their mama, Birdie.
This litter has been extra fun because we’ve given all ten puppies bird-inspired names!
Each puppy has their own unique look, personality, and charm. From beautiful shades of red to sweet little white markings, they’re a gorgeous bunch.
We’re sharing their five-week headshots below so you can get a closer look at each of Birdie’s Little Birdies.

It’s amazing how quickly their little faces change from week to week!
As much as we love having these puppies in our home, we’re also excited for the wonderful families who will be welcoming them into theirs.
Puppy visits begin October 15, when families will have the opportunity to spend time with the puppies and get to know their personalities.
Our puppies will receive their veterinary examinations and first vaccinations before heading home on November 3, 2026, at eight weeks old.
Until then, we’ll continue focusing on socialization, early potty-training habits, confidence-building experiences, and plenty of love.
